Day 62- Hotel Workouts

This trip to San Francisco is the first of many upcoming travel dates. I believe for 5 weekends straight I will be away from my home, so in order to stay fit I need to make sure that I keep up my workouts even on the road. I learned the idea of my San Fran workout from my friend, Dr. Walsh.

To do this workout all you need is a deck of cards. For each suit choose a workout. For an example here is what I did:

  • Hearts- Jump squats
  • Diamonds- Lunges (each leg will do the # on the card)
  • Spades- Pushups
  • Clovers- Crunches
Shuffle the cards and then pick up the first card, whatever the number is on the card do that many of the exercise that matches the suit (if you draw a 8 of hearts, then do 8 jump squats). Do this for the whole deck of cards. I had aces, and face cards count as 10. If you finish your deck and still need more, reshuffle and start again. Or you can do what I did and assign new exercises for the suits. I decided to have each suit be a different abdominal exercise.

  • Hearts- Pushups to planks
  • Diamond- Leg lifts
  • Clover- Super crunches
  • Spade- Crunches
